On October 10, 2012, a jury in Lincoln County Circuit Court in Brookhaven, Mississippi, returned a verdict in favor of Teresa Beasley against Robert Lang and Beverly Lang. The jury awarded Ms. Beasley $103,000.00 for her sexual assault and battery claim against Robert Lang; $35,000.00 for her conversion claim against Robert Lang and Beverly Lang; $200,000.00 in punitive damages against Robert Lang; and $45,000.00 in punitive damages against Beverly Lang. Teresa Beasley had been a nail technician for over twenty (20) years. In the spring of 2006, Ms. Beasley moved her business, “Nails by Teresa,” into a business owned by Robert Lang and Beverly Lang. A few months later, Robert Lang went to Ms. Beasley’s apartment and sexually assaulted and battered her. Ms. Beasley closed her nail salon and tried to retrieve her personal items that were stored in the Langs’ storage facility, as well as her business items that remained at her nail salon.
