On January 27, 2016, a jury in the County Court of Lee County returned a verdict in favor of Plaintiff Phuong Thi Nguyen, a former employee of Ichiban Japanese Grill in Tupelo, Mississippi.  Plaintiff was awarded a total of $85,891.00 in damages.

The jury found that Ms. Nguyen was fired from her job because she reported illegal activity and that she was not paid a proper wage, pursuant to the Fair Labor Standards Act, during the time she worked at Ichiban.
